Real Madrid Player Ratings vs Man City: Los Blancos don’t know when they’re being beaten! Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz complete late turns as Kylian Mbappe also leaves his mark on the Champions League -thriller

The Englishman and the Former City Academy Candidate seized late goals to produce another remarkable European reversal

A late winner from Jude Bellingham finished a hectic game that also saw Kylian Mbappe and Brahim Diaz find the net when Real Madrid came back twice to beat Manchester City 3-2 in the first stage of their Champions League playoffs. The English midfielder found the net in the 93rd minute to end an unlikely – but ever so predictable – comeback.

Los Blancos should have taken the lead within 10 minutes when Mbappe found Ferland Mendy in front of the target, but left -back spread his shot from close range. He also made paying shortly after, when Erling Haaland swept a Jesko Gardiol dismissal in the far corner to give the city a 1-0 lead. Mbappe had a good chance of his own in the half -time stroke, but swept his shot over the bar despite being in hectare in the box.

Bellingham had a good chance early in the second half and drove wide after some individual inspiration from Vinicius Jr, before Mbappe found the equalizer as he scrubbed a volley into the far corner of a Dani Ceballos Cross. Bellingham should have done it 2-1 shortly after, only to be denied by a rescue from Ederson.

They were made to pay after 80 minutes when Ceballos cut Phil’s foot in the box, and Haaland made no mistake from the penalty. However, there was another VRI when Brahim steered a late equalization after an Ederson -Bommert before Bellingham locked in on Vinicius’ weak effort to score the winner at stopping time.
