One of America’s most iconic, beloved and long -standing dining chains closes several locations nationwide. In a recent income release for investors, Denny’s revealed that it closes approx. 30 stores in 2025. This follows Denny’s previous notice of 150 store closures, which are now in progress.

Denny’s previous decomposition plans have already shut down in many places, with at least 88 restaurants ceasing to operate by the end of 2024. With these new closures, Denny’s target for 2025 is to close another 70 to 90 stores, which means about 180 fewer Denny’s locations when everyone is said and is finished. Currently, there are approximately 1,300 Denny’s restaurants in the United States.

Denny’s says it was able to save some under -priesting restaurants with successful redevelopments that generated an increase of 6.5% over the year for customers for these restaurants. However, remodels are expensive and difficult: The restaurant chain was only able to complete a total of 24 of them last year.

The reasons why Denny quoted for some restaurant endings may seem well known to the food industry as a whole. In addition to everyday reasons such as expiry of leases or insurmountingly expensive building renovations, an important motivation for these impending closures is an ever -developing market. And some are simply not as lucrative as they used to be.

This partly repeats the situation of Domino’s, which announced the upcoming closure of over 200 locations, mostly in Japan. Unlike Denny’s, however, Domino’s business in the United States is strong, but its Japanese locations have suffered from changes in consumer habits that have made dozens of once-profitable stores financial dead weight.

Unfortunately, the chain restaurant industry is not foreign to serious financial alleys. Last year, TGI Fridays suddenly closed 49 US locations in the middle of Sagging business and is now facing bankruptcy. Here, Denny’s hope can avoid the fate of America’s many vanishing chain restaurants.
