Prime Video on Apple TV got as much better – here is how

Prime Video is one of the best streaming services you can subscribe to, but its dedicated app for Apple TV has always felt a little perfunctory: Functional, but without any real thought of the platform it is on.

It’s set to change with a larger patch that is rolling out right now, bringing some significant improvements to Prime Video subscribers using the Apple TV platform.

The update is available for the app on all versions of Apple TV – from the original Apple TV HD up to the 2022 update of Apple TV 4K – and Amazon highlights six improvements that users can take care of.

First up there is faster rolling. This takes full advantage of the Siri remote, where owners are able to use an ironing in any direction to roll through all the shows and movies offered. This also extends to new TouchPad movements that “make quick forwarding and rewinding back to a breeze,” says Amazon. “Customers can now simply push to the desired playing point,” explains the company.

The next one is a great improvement and non-applied TV users can be surprised to learn that it was not a feature before. The search function in the app now automatically fills out search results when writing each letter, making it easier to find what you are looking for. You can also use voting tight to find results quickly if you want anything faster.

It also looks much more polished. The app will now use “higher resolution images” everywhere and you will find added sound effects as you push through content. Amazon says “features such as parallax effect for extra visual depth” have also been added, which means you can expect background images to move at a different speed than the tiles in front of them.

Finally, there are some very welcome improvements in accessibility. Amazon says the updated app adds “Apple’s best-in-class package with accessibility features” so you can expect voiceover, hovering text and bold text to help them with visual impairment.

Seam I wrote on our sister website Livingc a few years agoAlthough Apple TV is the definition of a luxurious purchase in an age where it is almost impossible to buy a TV that Isn’t it Loaded with smart features, it’s one that I’m extremely happy about.

While my 65-inch LG OLED TV has a brilliant image, the built-in apps are sluggish and with occasional blurred image quality in fast scenes. The iPhone-Class chipset from Apple TV is undoubtedly excessive, but it does not give half of a smooth experience and because it shares DNA from iOS within, app updates are also fast.

Plus, it means I can turn off WiFi on my TV to prevent recommended content and other sneakers of ads that slip through.

In addition to having a better selection of apps than most other places (you don’t get the National Theater at home on webos, I can tell you), the experience is a little nicer in most of them – which is why Amazon’s Prime Video Experience felt strangely dated in comparison. With these improvements, I look forward to enjoying Amazon shows with the Polish I expected elsewhere on the Apple TV platform.
