Wolf pack waves past San Jose State, 73-58

After a defective first half, Nevada turned the game with a huge second half and drove past San Jose State and took a 73-58 win on Friday night in San Jose, Calif.

Kobe Sanders led four Wolf Pack players in double figures scoring with 18 points, and nine assists as Nevada men’s basketball team improved to 6-7 in Mountain West, 15-10 overall.

Brandon Love had a career hill 13 points, Justin McBride added 12 and Nick Davidson had 11 points and seven rebounds.

It was Nevada’s fourth equal victory, its longest victory in conference games this season.

Nevada Outscored San Jose State, 47-31, in the second half, thanks to a suffocating defense. The Spartans had 18 revenue for seven for the package and Nevada made them 20 points.

Latrell Davis led San Jose State with 17 points as the Spartans dropped to 5-10 MW, 12-15 overall.

Crazy State

Nevada was 7-of-13 off from the free throwing line to the game with nine of these attempts at the last three minutes.

Nevada’s Tyler Rolison came from the bench and played 32 minutes on the Point Guard and scored seven points with four assists, a turnover and four rebounds.

Nevada shot 30-of-58 from the field (52 percent), while the Spartans shot 19-of-49 (39 percent).

Nevada had a huge 38-20 benefit on points in the paint.

First half

San Jose State led, 27-26 at the break, despite committing a school record 12 revenue in the first half.

In the first half, Nevada hit 2-of-8 from 3-point reach, while the Spartans were 5-of-12 from the arch. The wolf package was 12-of-29 from the field and the Spartans were 10-of-21.

The Spartans exceeded the Wolf Pack, 18-9 in the first half.

Next for Nevada

Wolf Pack plays in Colorado State on Tuesday night (at 18 tip-off).

Rams (15-9 overall, 9-4 MW) plays Wyoming on Saturday.
