Jason Gillespie brands Pakistan Cricket -Trainer Aaqib Javed ‘A Clown’ | Cricket News

Gillespie says Aaqib undermined him and former white ball coach Gary Kirsten to grab the coaching job for himself.

Former Pakistan test cricket coach Jason Gillespie has felt his successor Aaqib Javed a “Clown” and accused the former fast bowler of undermining him and the ex-white-ball coach Gary Kirsten for taking responsibility for the national team across all formats.

Gillespy’s comments responded to a social media post containing quotes from AAQIB a few days after the hosts Pakistan had crashed out of the ICC Champions Trophy without victory.

AAQIB told journalists on Tuesday that Pakistan had changed 16 coaches and 26 voters of about two years, and any side would fight in such circumstances.

“This is fun,” Australian Gillespie said on social media.

“Aaqib clearly undermined Gary, and I behind the scenes that campaign to be a coach in all formats.

“He’s a clown.”

Gillespie, who had also signed a two-year contract with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in April, ended as Red-Ball coach in December in the middle of the media reporting a collapse in relation to the board. He was replaced by Aaqib.

Kirsten retired as a white ball coach in October, almost six months after taking the job, with Gillespie filling to the South African during a Tour of Australia with limited transitions.

Javed was then appointed Pakistan’s temporary whiteball coach until Champions Trophy, and his task has now been extended to their tour of New Zealand in five T20s and three ODDs from March 16.

Gillespie, a former Australian fast bowler, played 71 samples and 97 one-day international from 1996-2006, before entering coaching.

Pakistan hosted his first big ICC event for 29 years when Champions Trophy returned after a hole of eight years, but the defense champions put an abysmal performance when they lost two group games and had a washed out.

Shortly after their exit, Pakistan Star Batter Baber Azam and White-Ball Captain Mohammad Rizwan dropped from his T20 team and appointed Salman Ali Agha as the T20 captain.

AAQIB, which also acts as Pakistan’s national voter, acknowledged that chopping and change have not helped the national team.

“We have changed almost 16 coaches and 26 voters in the last two years or so,” he told a news conference to announce the latest overhaul of Pakistan’s limited over-troops. “You put that formula on any team in the world, I think they will be in the same situation too.

“Until you get consistency right from top and bottom, from the chairman down, your team will not move on.”

Pakistan is traveling to New Zealand for a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series starting March 16.
