How does Bruce Arena continue to do it? (Tip: He has told us all the time)

Bruce Arena Exists in a strange place inside American football. For about 30 years, we are amazed at how the arena is doing? How does he continue to win at virtually every stop when tactical innovation has never been his thing?

Well, players tell us how. And Arena has even given some pretty solid answers all the time, and it continuously advises (sometimes even lamponing) media types, which a focus on tactics is almost always wrong.

And yet, even hearing the answer, the same answer again and again, we still ask: How does Bruce Arena do it?

It is a wonding in the human state, this occasional and curious propensity to deny the obvious. Occam’s razor tells us that the simplest explanation is usually the best, but the hunt for complexity where it may not exist is sometimes somehow irresistible.

So we finally had to settle for this: He is a master of managing player relationships and he does not complicate too much the game. He is interested in players and treats them with respect and assigns them to positions where they are most likely to find success.

Simple? Yes. But those things go far, far. Longer than most of us seem to understand.

Therefore, we are looking for a more complicated answer. Even as Arena does it again, this time with the earthquakes in San Jose. Yes, it’s early. But signs show that he has wisely rebuilt the earthquake list around players he trusts, and now these conditions administer so smoothly that it turns years of organizational suffering.

‘Bruce has a way of connecting…’

Dax McCartyThe long -time MLS midfielder and now Appletv Studio Analyst admitted to a recent wrapup show that everyone is still asking about Arena’s secret sauce. But he explained that modern coaches avoiding older methods are now making a better effort to understand and connect more personally to their players. McCarty suggests that Arena was far ahead of the game on one.
