Ashwaubenon -Beboers wonder how NFL drafts will affect transportation

game

  • Road closures around Lambeau Field are already beginning on March 28 and last through the beginning of May.
  • Residents are advised to comply with parking restrictions as enforcement will be strict.
  • More detailed information about the event will be available on the OnePass app and dedicated sites.

Ashwaubenon – maps that add street endings to the NFL draft look impressive, but the organizers assure residents and businesses that they will be able to get around somehow.

Not surprisingly, streets, parking and road endings took the brother party of the discussion about the draft at Ashwaubenon Information Meeting Thursday in Village’s Performing Arts Center. The draft presentation that went through the community this week was essentially the same as the one at City of Green Bay YouTube page.

“We will not limit access for you to live and work,” said Jennifer Marks, an NFL representative involved in the planning, in response to a question from Mike Wier, owner of Kroll’s West Restaurant, of access to his business immediately west of Lambeau Field.

2025 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 24 to April 26 at Lambeau Field Campus and some surrounding blocks. Participation is projected at 250,000, although it will not be unique individuals. People are counted every time they enter the draft campus, so some are counted more than once.

Estimates for unique individuals have not been made but it is likely to be much like a Packers Game day, only for three or four days in a row. Aaron Popkey, Packer’s director of public affairs, said the area hosted a similar audience for the 2011 season after Packers won the Super Bowl XLV.

The draft is expected to generate a financial consequence of $ 94 million and $ 20 million locally.

It is certain that closing Oneida Street, South Ridge Road and Lombardi Avenue around Lambeau Field for several weeks will interrupt the normal flow of traffic between Green Bay and Ashwaubenon and for residents of neighborhoods on both sides of Lombardi Avenue.

Road closures for the draft start on March 28, when the crews begin to build the draft phase, as Ashwaubenon Village Manager Joel Gregozeski said will be as big as the nearby Resch Center. Parts of South Oneida Street and Armed Forces Drive will be closed from March 28 until a week to 10 days after the draft, or May 3-6.

Lombardi Avenue will be limited, then closed from the beginning of April to early May.

Gregozeski emphasized that residents should obey parking signs, or more specifically, no parking signs. “It will be expensive if you are dragged into these non-parking zones,” he said.

Parking restrictions for game day around Lambeau Field remain in place for the draft, with additional restrictions added on some streets. “All streets that are not parking for Game Day will not be parking for the draft,” Gregozeski said.

Traffic during the three days of the draft is controlled differently than during games, primarily because Lombardi Avenue will be closed. Drivers coming into the area from the south will be asked to use Ashland Avenue, while those coming from the north are recommended to use Interstate 41 and finish on Mason Street. I-41/Lombardi Avenue exchange will primarily be used by pendulum runs, charter, drop-offs and the like.

Further details of traffic flow will be announced later.

Other points made during the presentation:

  • RV camping is not allowed in Ashwaubenon. “We want to enforce it strictly,” Gregozeski said. Some residents have asked if they could rent RVs to visit fans.
  • On the other hand, the village will be more forgiving about vehicles parked in yards overnight. “We won’t go around and check if cars are removed every night,” Gregozeski said. “You probably won’t get a ticket.” Lambeau nabos will be counted on to help give parking to visitors as all stadium parties will not be available to the public.
  • Food trucks and direct sellers must be licensed and they are not allowed on streets or sidewalks. There is also a buffer zone around the draft of the area where they are not allowed.
  • Short -term rents must be licensed by the county for a night stay or the village for stays of 10 nights or more. Discover Green Bay has A six-stage guide for short -term rental.
  • Signs in housing are regulated and ordinances are strictly enforced.

“Information that lacks details tonight will appear on NFL’s Onepass app,” Gregozeski said.

To participate in the draft, fans must register on the OnePass app, which will also provide all the information needed to attend the event, or to live or do business near it.
