NOPD announces re -planned parades, routes and times

NOPD today announced information about re -planned Mardi Gras parades, which was postponed on March 4, 2025 due to bad weather.

Truck Parades & The Krewe from Barkus rolls this Sunday (March 9, 2025).

Trucks in Elk’s Krewe from Orleanians Truck Parade and in Krescent City Truck Parade arrive at StartPlact (Tchoupitoulas Street at Napoleon Avenue) at. 8:00 ALKS KREWE FROM ORLEANIANS PARADE WILL ROLL AT. 9:00, with Krewe of Crescent City Parade to follow immediately.

The parades travel on a shortened route moving north on Tchoupitoula’s Street to Saint Charles Avenue, and then continue east of Saint Charles Avenue to Louisiana Avenue and turns north towards Louisiana Avenue until they were dissolved at the intersection of Toledano Street and South Claiborne Avenue. The parade route will be staffed properly by law enforcement.

NOPD requires members to run in these krewes not for sanitary purposes to throw any beads before the start of the route at Tchoupitoulas Street or at the end of the route at the intersection of Toledano Street and South Claiborne Avenue.

In addition, Krewe from Barkus parade remains scheduled to roll at. 14:00 along its previously announced route in the French Quarter. Personnel for this route are handled on a detailed basis through the Political Secondary Employment Office.
