Brown’s owner Jimmy Haslam allegedly appears Myles Garrett’s meeting request in the middle of Handelsstandoff

Cleveland Browns-MYles Garrett relationship is not getting hotter.

In the midst of a standoff over a trade request from the six-time pro bowler, Garrett recently requested a meeting with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and was rejected, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Instead, Brown’s ownership reportedly told Garrett that if he wants to discuss his future in Cleveland, he will have to do so with general manager Andrew Berry. While a team that wants its top football director to deal with a football case is understandable, it holds less weight when the owner has a significant history of interfering in the front office, as Haslam does.

Garrett made his trade request last month after eight seasons with Browns, where he has collected a defensive player of the year award, four first-team all-pro NODs, 116 career tackles for loss, 102.5 Career sacks, 20 forced Fumbles and a playoff victory.

He specifically said he would win a Super Bowl, which will be difficult in Cleveland with Gargantuan $ 72.9 million Cap hits threatening after Deshaun Watson, which may not even reach the course next season.

Berry responded by saying that the team has no interest in trading Garrett, who has two years left on his agreement with Cap hits of $ 19.7 million in 2025 and $ 20.3 million, with more dead money after that through void wounds. The team offered ambitious Garrett a contract extension instead that he rejected.

Garrett is still one of the best defensive players in the NFL and one of the few reasons to be optimistic about Brown’s next season after walking 3-14 last year. He would be one of the most attractive names of the trading market if his request was met, but his fate could ultimately be up to how ugly he is willing to do this situation.
