Trump Administration creates registry for immigrants who are in the US illegal

Washington (AP) – Trump -Administration Creating a register for all people who are in the US illegal and those who do not self -report can face fines or prosecution, Immigration officials Advertised Tuesday.

Everyone who is in the US illegally has to register, give fingerprints and give an address, the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement. It cited part of the Immigration and Nationality Act – the complex immigration law – as a reason for the registration process that would apply to all 14 and the elderly.

The message comes as the administration seeks to do good about campaign promise to perform Massportations of people in the country illegal and sealing the limit to the future Asylum seekers.

“A foreigner failure to register is a crime that can result in a fine, imprisonment or both,” the statement states. “For decades, this law is ignored – no longer.”

On its website, US citizenship and immigration service said it would soon create a form and process for registration.

In one of His 10 Day inauguration Executive orders related to immigration, President Donald Trump initially outlined plans to create a register and demanded that Homeland Security “immediately advertise and publish information on the legal obligation of all previously unregistered foreigners in the United States to comply.”

It was not immediately clear how many people living in the country illegally would voluntarily emerge and provide the federal government’s information about who they are and where they live. But lack of registration would be considered a crime, and the administration has said that the first priority target of deportation is people who have committed crimes in the United States

National Immigration Law Center, an immigration lawyer group, said in a post on its website before the announcement on Tuesday night that “The Alien Registration Act of 1940 is the only time the US government conducted a comprehensive campaign to demand that everyone non -citizens have to register.”

The organization said during this process that people had to go to their local post office to detect, and the goal was to identify “potential national security threats largely characterized as communist or undermining.”

The group warned that the registry was intended to help find potential goals for deportation.

“Any attempt from the Trump administration to create a registration process for non -citizens who were previously unable to register would be used to identify and target people to detention and deportation,” the organization said.
