King’s heroic endeavors will be short in battle with nuggets

Sacramento Kings closed their four-game road trip in a match until the end with Denver Nuggets and fell 110-116.

This game, especially the second half and even more so fourth quarter, was actually a match. It became physical at both ends where none of the team backed up. But as the game got tighter, the Kings violation fought to get any power.

They went to Demar Derozan and Zach Lavine down the stretch to carry the violation, and that almost Worked, but the kings fell just below a perfect road return.

Derozan finished the night with 35 points and 5 assists, while avalanche had 20 points and 6 assists. They both shot 43.8% from the field, and Derozan made 4-of-6 triangles, while avalanche made 3-of-7.

What is even more impressive are the types of shots they took. Nuggets were killed everywhere over them, literally in some cases, with whistle May or not having been involved. But the two All-Stars made the hard shots to keep the kings in the game.

The problem was that all for the nuggets looked easy. They were able to get to the line, get to the edge and run their violation to perfection to look easy to look.

Kings refused Nikola Jokić and doubled him, but as we have seen before, he was able to set up his teammates when the game was on the field. Russell Westbrook led nuggets to score, cut the kings all night and get the curve lightly. When the Kings law violation was slowed down to a stop, the Nuggets violation started.

The difficult part of the stomach is how big the Kings violation looked early in this game. They had 21 assists through three quarters, but had only one in the final frame.

It makes sense that Kings struggled to move the ball as their two main distributors in Domanta’s Sabonis and Malik Monk missed the game with injuries. They lead the team with 6.2 and 6.1 assists per Battle, leaving Sacramento just over 12 assists to compensate for.

It was a game that Kings could have had, but would have been an extremely impressive victory. At this time of the season, however, each game hurts, especially the close.
