Does Shai Gilgeous-Alexander play today? (Update Update, Betting Impact for Thunder)

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sat out the team’s victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, though the team did not officially note him with an injury.

Instead, Gilgeous-Alexander was excluded for “rest” as Thunder is ready for the playoffs with a massive lead that was already in hand in the western conference position. SGA was not the only player who prevailed Friday’s win when Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Cason Wallace, Lu Dort and Isaiah Hartenstein were also excluded.

Now all these players are expected to be in action on Sunday against Denver Nuggets. As a result, oddsmakers have set OKC as an eight-point favorite at home.

While Nuggets held SGA to 28 points in both their meetings earlier this season, OKC’s violation has been enjoyed from late and ranked No. 2 in offensive rating during its last 15 games. Although I think an uptempo, high-scoring game favors Denver, it also means that SGA is likely to get his.
