Juventus vs. Atalanta Match Preview: Time, TV schedule and how to watch the series a

With 11 games to go in the 2024-25 season, there are only so many chances left for Thiago Motta and Juventus to get a direct shot on one of the other teams they compete for a top four place against. Still in this 11-game group of FIXTURSSS, Juventus is still more than a few chances of chances to try and either get closer to the three teams in front of them or distance themselves between the teams directly behind them in the league table.

On Sunday night, third place in Serie A comes to Turin to meet fourth place.

Thanks to last weekend’s madness, even before Motta’s team took the pitch, third place is separated atalanta and fourth place Juventus with only three points in the Serie A position. This means a potential sixth league victory for Motta and Juve, and they are suddenly in the level of points with the boys from Bergamo and at least to stay straight with Naples and Inter at the top of the table.

While Juventus’ title chances still feel like a relatively long shot, even with the sudden drawing closer to the league-leading inter in recent weeks, the battle for the top four is very much on. Juve went into Matchday 28 Two points ahead of fifth place Lazio, one of the teams they still have on the schedule, comes the spring. Fiorentina, down to the sixth, is still back on the schedule. The same goes for Bologna who is down in the seventh.

But it is Sunday evening’s game, against the opponent in third place that is very much within a significant distance where Juventus enters their best form of the season.

At least when it comes to the simple results in the position, that is,.

Yes, Juventus is still trying to find the ever -fraudulent complete 90 minutes. But they go into Sunday Night’s Matchup with Atalanta on a five-match winning row in Serie A, the kind of form that only has them for the second to Claudio Ranieris resurrected Roma when it comes to points earned during their last six games. Juventus has proven to have good halves, maybe even about 60 minutes, but the complete effort from opening flute until the triple explosion after 90-something is still something they are looking for.

Against an Atalanta that they know will push them high, as they always do and have the offensive firepower to potentially drop a great target atmosphere at any given time, Juventus will certainly need more than they have thrown out there despite the current winning series in Serie A.

But there is also this: If you think there is a “real time” to catch a competitor to the top four, this might as well be the time for Juve when it comes to turning Atalanta.

As much as we talk about the potential of this Atalanta page, things are very not all good in Bergamo at the moment. There have been off the Field Matters involving the future of manager Gian Piero Gasperini and penalty kicking controvers involving Ademola Lookman. On the field, Atalanta’s last six league fixtures have been a changing pattern between winnings and traits, the latest result that comes in a scoreless excursion against relegation -threatened Venice, where they recorded 18 shots and an XG of almost 2.0, but couldn’t put any of the worst defense in the league.

And that’s before you consider, like Juventus all this comes at a time when atalanta

So while we are in a constant state of wondering which Juventus will emerge from both a game-to-game basis and a half to half, the same could probably also be said about Atalanta at the moment.

But at this time of the season and what Juventus is trying to secure with a top four finish, how to get the points does not mean exactly, but just that you get them. Look at what Milan did to Lecce on Saturday. Look at what Inter did against Monza later in the day. Sometimes victories are not always beautiful, but they are the winner – and that’s what Juventus needs most right now with 11 games to go and a place in the top four to try to secure.

Team news

  • A major concern that came in this weekend was that Thiago Motta would again have limited opportunities in defense. But when we actually hit the weekend, Looks like Motta will have four mid -backs available to meet atalanta. Federico Gatti’s muscle fatigue questions are likely to limit him to a role from the bench on Sunday night, but Motta will also have Renato Veiga back for the first time in a few weeks.
  • Pierre Kalulu is expected to return to the starting lineup after making his first performance in a month in the victory over Hellas Verona. Who starts with him probably depends on Gatti’s condition, where Lloyd Kelly is the probable choice if the great Italian defender is not ready to play from the opening whistle.
  • The other wounded players who do not want to be available against Atalanta are not so much of a surprise: Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Ask Milik, Douglas Luiz, Nicolo Savona, Jonas Rouhi and Francisco Conceição.
  • Juventus is undefeated in 25 of their last 26 home matches against Atalanta.
  • In a probable response to Teun Koopmeiners, who comes on the field to Boos from the crowd on Monday night, Motta said the Dutchman “has been doing well since he arrived” from Atalanta during the summer. Koopminers’ late goal against Hellas Vreona was just his second in Serie A this season after scoring 12 with Atalanta last season.
  • As was the case against Hellas Verona, Andrea Cambiaso is the only Juventus player who is a yellow card away from suspension. Given that Juve has Fiorentina next time on the schedule after turning Atalanta and the continued limited options at Fullback, it would be less to see Cambiaso be suspended for the trip to Florence.

Juventus plays to watch

A week ago before Juve faces Hellas Verona, we discussed a player who has not had many goal contributions in the last few months. This trend continues here this week.

And unfortunately, it involves even fewer target contributions.

The way it is currently standing, Nico Gonzalez looks like a player who is not very worth the very significant obligation to buy that Juventus has linked to his current (and expensive) loan agreement from Fiorentina. As much as someone as Chico Conceição has burned hot and cold this season, Gonzalez’s performance has been more about what he hasn’t done compared to repeating what he did on Fiorentina last season.

So what about these target involvements?

Let’s just go ahead and look at what Gonzalez has been doing ever since he scored in back-to-back matches against Cagliari and Monza just before Christmas.

In 15 appearances in all competitions, 12 of which are starter, Gonzalez has no goals and two assists. These two assists have both arrived in 2025, against Milan back in January and then last month in the victory over Como.

But apart from that, Gonzalez has not exactly lit the league on fire.

The whole thing is quite the situation of Motta and Co. Right now, when it comes to Gonzalez. He is currently fourth on the team in XG per. 90 minutes of 0.22 but he has not scored in 2 12 months. He is so far down at XA per. 90 locations on the Juventus trop that you should go into the middle of teens to find his name. There is much to want his current game level – and that is even before you dive deep into the advanced statistics.

That said, Juve needs Gonzalez to look more like more of the Fiorentina version of herself with his first trip back to Florence since his summer movement on the horizon. With Conceição out and Timothy Weah still gets the Terzino treatment simply from necessity, Gonzalez will play and play a lot, whether it’s Samuel Mbangula or Kenan Yildiz on the opposite wing.

What better way to start a turn for the better than in one of your biggest remaining fixtures, right?
