5 wounded after small aircraft goes down into the residential area of ​​Pennsylvania

Five people aboard a small aircraft crashing into a residential area of ​​Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, survived on Sunday and were led to hospitals, authorities said.

The conditions for the five were not available. Manheim Township Fire Chief Scott Little said no one on the ground was injured but five vehicles were damaged.

He would give no details of the damage to those on board. The plane had just been taken from Lancaster Airport when it went down into Brethren Village -retirement community, he said.

The federal aviation administration said in a statement that the aircraft was a Beechcraft bonanza with five people on board.

The aircraft, a popular single -motor model that was introduced in 1947 and usually able to carry six, crashed at 1 p.m. 15.00, said FAA.

Video from NBC -attached WGAL by Lancaster showed the broken down aircraft in the parking area of ​​Brethren Village, less than a mile from Lancaster Airport.

Online images of the crash showed the tail of a plane in a parking lot with the rest of the aircraft shrouded in flames.

Little said the fire was extinguished and the scene was under control a little more than three hours after the crash.

The government Josh Shapiro said the state police helped the first respondents.

“All Commonwealth resources are available when the answer continues and more information will be given when it becomes available,” he said at X.

National Transportation Safety Board, which usually examines such crashes, said it was aware of the situation and would release more information later.
