St. Louis is undefeated in four games against Galaxy (1-0-3 record) and has the lonely victory in the series after beating the Galaxy at home last season. Cedric Teuchert and Marcel Hartel scored the goals of this game. The goal was Hartels first in MLS. In the Away luminaire at DIGNITY Health Sports Park Last season, St. Louis from behind to earn a point in a 3-3 thriller. Tomáš Ostrák’s first goal of the season along with Joakim Nilsson’s first career MLS goal helped City SC secure the point. St. Louis is the only Western conference team La Galaxy has not defeated in the last two years (at least two meetings).

St. Louis earned a point on the road to San Diego last weekend and remained undefeated in their first two matches. 0-0 a draw meant City SC goalkeeper Roman Bürki registered consecutive shutouts for the start of the season for the first time since coming to St. Louis. City SC served back-to-back Rene Ark for the fourth time in club history (the other three were from 18 to 25 March, 2023, 1-8 July 2023 and 6-14 April 2024). Defender Henry Kessler was chosen as man-of-the-match for his defensive performance against SDFC. Per Opta led Kessler all players in defensive actions (eavesdropping, blocks, tackles, approvals) with 15. Louis is the first team that has not admitted a goal and only a shot on goal over their first two games in any season in MLS.

The reigning MLS Cup masters have had a tough start to the 2025 campaign and fail to pick up a point in all three of their competitive matches to start the season. La Galaxy lost 2-0 in their home opener against San Diego, fell on the road to Vancouver 2-1 last weekend and was edged 1-0 by Club Sport Herediano in the Concacaf Champions Cup game on Wednesday night. City SC will aim to secure their first win of the season, while the galaxy looks to avoid being the first reigning masters to lose their first three opening matches in the regular season.
