Justin Fields has an interesting demand for new contract with Steelers

According to NFL -Reporter Albert Breer, Pittsburgh Steelers And Quarterback Justin Fields continues to try to draw up a new contract for fields. According to Breer, the two sides of money speak as expected, but Breer notes that Fields allegedly also wants insurance about his opportunity to start.

Last season, Steelers traded for Fields after the signing of veteran Russell Wilson. It was a peculiar move, but we had no reason to believe that Fields did not come to Pittsburgh comfortable with being Wilson’s backup. But when Wilson suffered a calf injury at the start of the training camp, Fields was starting and he ran with the opportunity.

Fields went 4-2 as a starter and had the team in the right direction. But when Wilson was healthy, head coach Mike Tomlin immediately benched fields. For the first few weeks, Steelers won and Tomlin looked like a genius. But Fields couldn’t have been happy with the move. When the wheels fell off for Wilson, Tomlin still didn’t go back to fields. It couldn’t have been well with fields. In fact, Tomlin hardly used fields in any special packages despite Fields’ athletics.

It’s hard to blame fields for being a little crooked to return to Steelers after how things were handled in 2024.
