Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell joins son Baylee under his’ American Idol ‘audition

The premiere “American Idol” season 23 had some boy band nostalgia.

Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell’s son, Baylee Littrell, was auditioned for the song competition during his season premiere on March 9 – and the famous boy gang joined him for a duet.

Recordings of a young Baylee Littrell under the Backstreet Boys concerts that were sent before singing for judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

“There is something about you that looks familiar,” Underwood told Baylee Littrell.

The singer informed the judges that his father was a member of the 90s boy band, as Underwood replied, “And you look like your father.”

Baylee Littrell, who said he gets his voice from his father and hopes to do him justice, then performed an original song about giving up but “not giving up yet.”

As soon as he started singing, Underwood’s eyes expanded, and she looked at Bryan, which also looked surprised.

“Um, you’re really good. As you are really good, ”Underwood said after his audition.

“I think you could go very, very far in this competition,” she added.

Bryan asked if his father ever sang with him before asking the question, “Do you think he would sing with you?”

Brian Littrell, who was there with wife Leighanne, went into the audition room, and Bryan asked if he could sing the choir with his son.

After delivering an improvised duet by the young singer’s song, the judges clapped for the father-son duo.

“I think it’s like the second time I’ve ever done it,” said Backstreet Boys -member, “so hope it sounded okay.”

Richie complimented Brian Littrell with his talented son and then told the younger littrell, “I think you can go a long way.”

In a unanimous vote from the three judges, Baylee Littrell went to Hollywood and secured the ticket for the next round.

“I have to cry. I cry, ”said Brian Littrell.

The singer “I want it that way” formerly Today.com told that his 22-year-old son was part of “American Idol” and the hard work it brought.

“He just texted me last night, went, ‘Dad, guy, how do you do it? Like it’s hard work, ”Brian Littrell said at the time. “He has pulled his ass and I’m super proud of him. He gets kind of a new sense of reality about what this is. “

During his “American Idol” interview, Baylee Littrell said to follow in his father’s footsteps was “scary” because his career is “one of the most extraordinary in music history.”

“No one can ever compare,” he said, remembering he saw his father performing in front of a huge audience when he was young and was “fascinated.”
