Trail Blazers’ Deni Avdija wounded on Celtics

Portland Trail Blazers Forward Deni Avdija left Wednesday evening’s 128-118 loss in Boston with a left quad injury in the fourth quarter and did not return.

He scored 12 points with six rebounds in 23 minutes during the loss.

Avdija first injured his left quad contusion on February 26 during Blazers’ 129-121 in Washington, Avdija’s former team. He left this game in the first quarter and did not return.

“It was the same Quad Contusion,” Blazers -coach Chauncey Billups told journalists at TD Garden.

Avdija missed the team’s next match, a win in Brooklyn, before returning Sunday in Cleveland.

Avdija recorded his first triple double against Cavaliers and scored 30 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Blazers lost 133-129 in overtime.

Blazers will close their seven-game trip Friday at Oklahoma City Thunder.
