Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert scores 16 in return from injury absence

Minneapolis-Minnesota Timberwolves Center Rudy Gobert returned to action Sunday against San Antonio after a 10-game absence due to a crucifix and participated in the team’s highest scored games of the season.

Gobert was re -appointed in Minnesota’s most common starting lineup this season, with Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards on Guard and Jaden McDaniels and Julius Randle on forward. Naz Reid returned to a reserve role after an average of 18.1 points and 9.7 rebounds as a starter while Gobert was out.

In 20 minutes, Gobert had 16 points and eight rebounds when Timberwolves beat Spurs 141-124 to their fifth equal victory.

“Do you believe in chance?” Gobert said ghostly afterwards. “No, it was great. It was fun. As the ball moves like that, and the mindset is what it was like tonight, I think we have a very powerful team.”

GOBERT Average 11.1 points per Fight this season, his lowest brand in 10 years. The four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award winner is in its third year of Timberwolves. He missed the opportunity for Sunday to meet colleague Frenchman Victor Wembanyama, Spurs Center, who is out for the rest of the season with a blood clot in his right shoulder.
