Blazers can’t hit the clutch, losing narrowly to stamps

Portland Trail Blazers and Detroit stamps Played a barn burner on Sunday night. If charger was burned by unanswered triangles, that is. After building an 18-point lead in the second half, pistons succumbed to a big offensive race by Anfee Simons, helped some of the prior score from Jerami Grant who kept the game in reach. Portland cut the lead down to three in the last minute, but most of their non-simons shots came from outside. They couldn’t beat the deep shot late or in most of the game. Blazers went 15-50, 30% behind the arch, the pistons 9-28, 32.1%. The difference was that Detroit probably had in the scoring to compensate for it in a 119-112 piston victory.

Simons finished the game with 34 points, Grant with 25.

Blazer of the game

With concerns, it’s Anfeee Simons. The story with him and the team was really the same as it has been in the last few weeks. Portland did not play good defense. Simons became a frequent target for opposing attacks. He did not have enough help around him to prevent him from being postponed.

It put a wealth of pressure on Portland’s violation. As usual, Ant the guy was that delivered. He shot 14-26 from the field on the way to these 34 points. He is the only blazer that can score enough to win a game of offense. At gum, he tried – and largely delivered – Tonight.

State at night

Blazers were destroyed in the paint tonight. With a minute left in the third quarter, they had only counted 14 points against 40 for Detroit. Anfee Simons went on a heater to add 4 to the total amount before the summer was on the period, but it still left Portland on the wrong side of a double-up in the track. The stamps decided to remove dribbles penetration at all costs. Blazers coughed the ball, stopped on drives and went out of triangles instead. They could not hit enough of the latter to compensate for the former.

The last number in the paint was 50 Detroit, 30 Portland.

Honest mention: Down three points In the last 90 seconds of the game, Blazers missed three open triangles in a row before the margin came out of reach.

What we remember

Honestly? The holes in the Portland list. Blazers Miss Deni Avdija so bad at circumference. All the stamps had to do was to stay away from Toumani Camara and they had a red bridge with red rug into the pitch on penetration. Poor Donovan Clingan was left behind and decided whether to stay with her husband or cover the sudden Loose driver. When he did the former, Detroit scored unoccupied. When he did the latter, Clingan’s husband just shot rebound at Miss and put it in unanswered. You can find common between these two sentences pretty easily.

Upon offense, the lack of a real point Guard appeared drastically in the starting lineup. Simons mostly patterned ISO shots. Shaedon Sharpe stopped or turned around the ball as he tried to start. Whipping the cliff around the perimeter became Portland’s only stable transient option. It wasn’t beautiful and it wasn’t enough.
