Milwaukee vs. Orlando Game Review & 3 Takeaways from Magic Beating Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks’ comeback in the 4th quarter fell a shot against Orlando Magic and lost 111-109 after Damian Lillard’s game won three hit the rear iron. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Dame combined to 63 points to lead the Bucks violation. Still, the combined efforts of Paolo Banchero (29 points), Cole Anthony (22 points and nine assists) and Franz Wanger (18 points, seven rebounds and five assists) were enough to push Orlando over the finish line. What did we learn?

If I’m Milwaukee Bucks I will never see Orlando Magic in a playoff series, this season or any other season. Despite being out of their top guard in Jalen Suggs, the magic continued to limit one of Bucks’ greatest forces by offense: the three-point shot. Of the seven games where Bucks have tried their fewest three-pointers this season, four of these matches (including the top three) have come against the magic, with 23 Saturday night.

“They just change a lot and they are big, the one game where we had 30 (three points attempts) was a beat because we got good shots,” said head coach Doc Rivers. “I thought they were so much more physical tonight, I thought the first game here early in the year, I thought they were far more physical than us, they were more physical in three of the four games.”

In addition to their physicalness, Giannis Magic’s ability to be versatile enough to turn on the perimeter to limit Bucks’ three-point shot.

“They change everything, and when you play against a team that changes everything, it’s hard,” Giannis said. “You have to have the mindest to drive and kick it, but sometimes we have very talented players who take the individual challenge to take it yourself, and sometimes the ball doesn’t move that much and it clings. When playing against a team that changes you, keep the rolling hard. ”

Fortunately, Bucks finishes the magic for the rest of the regular season and would only play them in the second round or the eastern conference final depending on where they end in play-in. I know they won three out of the four games this season against Orlando, but a team like it can be dangerous when they can shoot the ball as they did in the first quarter last night. If they get a two-way scoring guard that can hit three at a high speed next to SUGGS, the magic will be a strong competitor in the east.

Three Kevin Porter Jr. player

If they made statues to float teams out of a good player for nothing, GM Jon Horst would have one to acquire Kevin Porter J. for nothing. After getting limited minutes with clippers, Porter has taken full advantage of the opportunity as the new backup point Guard behind lady. He has scored 10+ points in four straight matches, and he average 12.0 points per Fight over his last four competitions compared to his 9.3 points per year. Fight in general this season. He was part of the closing set -up last night against Orlando and was part of the spark of the comeback in the fourth quarter. Here are KPJ’s three best acting from Saturday night.

While they could never compare with Khris-to-Giannis lobes, KPJ-to-Giannis-Dem is pretty good.

I know I’m not the only one who wants to miss seeing Khris Middleton throwing lobber to Giannis, but in his short time here, KPJ throws up quite the collection of unique lobes passes to many players, but especially Giannis. With Bucks on the comeback trail, Porter runs a P&R with Giannis, and since Goga Bitdaze is in the magic, they will run some kind of drop coverage. Since Tristan da Silva does not provide much help and no one else rotates over, Porter throws a beautiful lobpas to Giannis for Slam. This was part of a big race for Bucks to get them within striking distance and make a full comeback attempt.

His ability to stop at a crown to hit mid -class images on one foot is something I’ve never seen before.

I know there are plenty of guys in the league who can stop at a crown and make hard shots, but the way Porter does is so unconventional to me. On this acting he drives into Anthony Black, stops one foot and pulls the other to make an awkward look, but hey, it went in.

Out of everyone he got Bucks to go from beyond the arc last night.

It was polar contradictions from three point interval between Bucks and Magic in the first quarter. Orlando came in as the worst three -point shooting team in the league, but managed to shoot a burning 8/13 beyond the arch in the first, while Milwaukee shot 0/5. So in the second quarter, only one player even tried one three for Bucks and it was Porter that went 2/2. He has history as a good three-point shooter, but the reason I say I’m a little surprised is that when he left Houston, he has hardly tried any triangles and has not necessarily been good at them. Still, it seems that he is building confidence in it again, especially by taking a transition three after a stop on defense. He becomes more and more valuable every game and it can price him for Bucks next season. But now let’s enjoy his exploits on the field while we still can,

Bonus bucks bits

  • Giannis finished the night only three points shy to join the top 50 scorers in the NBA story (20,047). He passed Antwan Jamison (20,042) last night after his 37-point excursion. He gets his chance to quickly move into the top 50 tonight toward Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • Here was the lady’s acquisition of the last possession against Orlando:

“Every time you look back on it, you are like ‘I could have done this, I should have done this,’ when I got it in the room, I made my mind, I went after the victory. I got a seat, I just lost balance, I got deeper than I wanted to, and I just tried to get it and go downhill and get back behind the line, but when I got back behind the line, I fought a little against my body more than I would have wished I came straight from balance and it was. “

  • Taurean Prince scored nine of his 13 points tonight in the fourth quarter and tie the second most he has scored in a single quarter this season. His three triple in the final frame also bottomed his season high in a single quarter and matched the second most he has done in a quarter of his career.
  • Dame has now scored 25+ points in 31 games this season, the 10th most in NBA, and he is one of only 11 players who have at least 30 games with 25+ points.
