Leonard’s hooks shot at Summer in OT gives Clippers 111-110 victory over Kings

Inglewood, California-Kawhi Leonard’s hooks shot against the buzzer raised Los Angeles Clippers over Sacramento Kings 111-110 on overtime on Sunday night to tighten the grip in eighth place in the west.

Leonard dribbled to the top of the key with 21.6 seconds left and let the clock cross down before making his winning move through defenders in the field. The ball jumped on the edge before walking in. He ended with 17 points.

James Harden had 29 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists for Clippers who won their third in a row. Ivica Zubac had 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Demar Derozan had 31 points and 10 assists, and Zach Lavine added 30 points for ninth place Kings. They fell to 0-3 against Clippers this season. Jonas Valanciunas had 17 rebounds.

Harden hit a jumper in the field to tie the game 97-97 with 11.9 seconds left in regulation. Lavine missed a jumper from the right as the time expired to force it five minutes of extra session.

Kings blew a seven-point lead with 1:40 back in regulation.

Derozan and avalanche combined to score all 13 of Kings’ points in OT.

Takeaways
Kings: They continue to scrape despite the ongoing absence of Domanta’s Sabonis and Malik Monk.

Clippers: Coach Tyronn Lue went home Before the game due to back pain and was replaced by assistant Brian Shaw.

Lavine had shot 62% from 3-point reach in its previous six games. He missed all his six attempts at regulation before hitting a 3 overtime. Like a team, the kings were 9 out of 34. Clippers were not much better and went 10 out of 31.
