Crews rush to the water Main break in Hoboken

HOBOKEN, NJ — Crews responded to a water main break in Hoboken shortly after 1 p.m. 6 Tuesday, and NJ Transit was forced to reroute some buses.

“Clinton Street is closed between Fourth and Sixth due to a water main break. Hoboken OEM and Hoboken Police are on scene,” the city wrote. “Buses are being diverted. Veolia Water is on its way. Please avoid the area.”

Veolia said it was working to repair a 12-inch main.

NJ Transit wrote that 126 buses to New York that normally pass through the area would instead use Willow Avenue, Fourth Street, Observer Highway, Washington Street and Newark Street.
